Sustainability

Bombas exists to make and donate essential clothing to those who need it. Our apparel creates a lot of good, but every item made still plays a role in today’s environmental challenges. That’s why we’re committed to producing more intentionally and thoughtfully than ever before.

Making Clothes That Need to Be Made

Socks are the #1 most requested clothing items in homeless shelters. Underwear is #2. T-shirts are #3. That’s because most shelters don’t allow donations of used socks and underwear for hygienic reasons. We make and donate these items to help solve a problem in our community.

While we are committed to our mission of donating essential clothing to those in need, we understand that we need to look out for the environment while we do so. The fashion industry produces between 2% and 8% of global carbon emissions. As an apparel company, we’re committed to being a part of the solution.

Thoughtful Clothing Is Only the First Step

To ensure we’re holding ourselves accountable, we have teamed up with experts to evaluate our environmental impact.

  • In 2017, we received B Corp certification for meeting the heightened standards established by B Lab. These include verified social and environmental performance, impact on workers and customers, and public transparency. Since then, we've raised our B Impact Score even further.

  • Since 2021, we've engaged with outside experts to assist in the preparation of a comprehensive assessment of our greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and measure our emissions annually.
